Comprehensive Dry Eye Assessments
Dry eye is a common eye condition affecting one in four people in the UK.
What is dry eye?
People with dry eye either don’t make enough normal (lubricating) tears or the ones they make are of poor quality, causing the tears to dry up too quickly and the front of the eye to become dry and irritated. As a result, dry eye can be uncomfortable and cause the eye to produce watery tears. This only helps for a short time – leaving the eye uncomfortable and gritty.
People with dry eye may experience some or all of the following symptoms.
- A sandy or gritty feeling
- Sore eyes
- Uncomfortable and sometimes painful eyes
- An itching or burning sensation
- Short-term blurred vision
- Watery eyes, as if you are crying (having watery eyes can mean you are producing poor-quality tears and have dry eye)
The introduction of our new comprehensive Dry Eye Assessment involves advanced tests and evaluations to understand the severity and underlying cause of your dry eye symptoms, providing accurate diagnosis and management of dry eye disease.
The assessment includes:
- Full symptom questionnaire & medical history review
- Comprehensive external eye examination – assessing the ocular surface and redness, eyelids and lashes, meibomian gland analysis, tear meniscus evaluation, and tear break-up time
- InflammaDry® MMP-9 tear testing to detect inflammation markers in the tears
- A personalised treatment plan tailored to your individual needs
- 2 follow-up phone calls to ensure the management is working well
- A repeat of all tests after 12 weeks
Our comprehensive dry eye assessment is £125, and you can spread the cost of your examination and treatments with EsiPay 0% APR finance options.
